BIO
A native of Florida, Virginia A. Smith, "Jennie" received her Bachelors of Interior Design at Florida State with a minor in Art History and minor in marketing. She was an Interior Designer for Rex King Interiors before venturing out to establish her own firm of Jennie Smith Interiors in 1985.
Her background in art history led her to travel to Europe, hence her appreciation of classical influences. Her father, an architect, added to her breadth of knowledge. Jennie melds her innate design sense with her understanding of good proportion and line. Her belief that timeless design can be mixed with interesting trends in colors and fresh popular accents.
She seamlessly blends her design sense: a passion of color and rich materials that can age and endure, with elements of surprise and collected objects. Jennie feels that you give the design "good bones", weaving into the design concept; the client's cultural experiences and quirky finds. The end result is an environment that they will love to live in and can feel integrated into.
Her successful business of 30 years focuses on upscale residential design both small and large, as well as many commercial projects throughout the state of Florida.
